Pop up restaurants are pitching up at the City Hall this weekend to celebrate the start of Belfast Restaurant Week.

At the Taste and Dine event food lovers will have a rare chance to sample food and eat at pop up versions of some of Belfast’s best loved restaurants including Ten Square,  James St South and Mourne Seafood.

Top chefs will conduct cookery demonstrations and renowned food writer Tom Parker Bowles shares his food experiences and cookery tips in the Taste and Dine kitchen.

There will also be stalls selling artisan food and drink products, a bar and entertainment from local musicians.

…”Belfast Restaurant Week aims to encourage residents, local businesses and visitors to eat out, try something new and support great Belfast food”…

Taste and Dine is the curtain raiser to a week-long food festival which sees more than 60 restaurants hosting one-off events, such as food and drink tasting evenings, signature menus and themed nights.

Now in its third year the event run by Belfast City Council showcases the “great range of restaurants, from fine dining to homely cafes the city has to offer”, says Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Nichola Mallon.

Ms Mallon said: “Belfast Restaurant Week aims to encourage residents, local businesses and visitors to eat out, try something new and support great Belfast food.”

Taste and Dine is on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5 from 11am-7pm at Belfast City Hall. Belfast Restaurant week runs from October 4-11 and to find out more go to visit-belfast.com/food
